For lung cancer, a positive exposure–response association was observed for categorical CDE (HRs 1.45, 1.53, and 1.46 for low, medium, and high levels of CDE, respectively; p -value for linear trend = 0.01); however, the HR for each 1 mg/m 3 -y increase in CDE did not reach statistical significance (HR 1.005, 95% CI 0.987–1.023).
