However, there were no significant differences among cases and controls when subdivided by parity (primiparous vs multiparous women), although GDM women had lower values than controls, and there was a trend toward the level to be higher in multiparous women, though the differences did not reach statistical significance by comparison with parity [ Table 1 ].
