In contrast, when focal males fought in the presence of a single gravid female, focal males not only increased their overt aggression (F 4,11 = 5.342, p = 0.019) but also increased the number of aggressive postures, relative to controls (F 4,11 = 2.05, p = 0.06), however this difference only approached significance.
