Interestingly, the levels of two synaptic markers, SNAP25 and synaptophysin, which showed a trend to decline in the old vehicle control group (90% and 93% of respective adult vehicle levels) were found to be significantly elevated (19% and 37%, respectively) in old drug-treated mice compared to old vehicle ones (Figures 7E and F ).
