In one study the unilateral airflow wcorrelated with verbal-spatial task performance in 23 right-handed men.[ 7 ] In another study, the effect of thirty min of unilateral forced nostril breathing was studied in 51 right handed volunteers.[ 8 ] Spatial task performance (a right hemisphere specific task) was significantly increased during left nostril breathing, while verbal task performance (a left hemispheric task) showed a trend of increase during right nostril breathing.
