The sentences

A prevalence of 11.66% of composite genotype has been found in the Maharashtrian ethnic group, correlating with the severity of periodontitis.[ 21 ] In a study evaluating the prevalence of only IL-1B polymorphism among the South Indian subjects, a higher percentage of genotype was observed among cases, but this observation did not reach statistical significance.[ 22 ] These findings suggest possible racial variation and ethnic specificity.
