In animal experiments, we (Wang et al., 2010b ) recently reported that although 8–10 week of treadmill ExT tended to reduce the blood pressure, HR and renal sympathetic activation responses to involuntary static contraction by electrical stimulation of ventral roots in a decerebrate rat model where central command was removed, this training effect did not reach statistical significance (Figure 4 ), indicating that ExT has less effect on the EPR in healthy animals.
