We extended these findings to primary neurons and observed an increase in the αsyn oligomer signal in the exosomal fraction from neurons treated with bafilomycin A1 and a decrease in the αsyn oligomer signal with rapamycin treatment in the exosomal fraction compared to DMSO control (Figure 6 E), although these effects did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.17), probably due to the fact that the yield of exosomes are significantly less from primary neuronal preparations resulting in barely detectable luciferase and an decrease in the signal/noise ratio.
