Restriction of analysis to subjects with high grade tumours showed that subjects carrying the T allele for rs28665122 (heterozygous and homozygous) in the SEPS1 gene (OR = 0.46, 95% CI = 0.24–0.89, p = 0.02) were at lower risk of a high grade tumour per 10 μg/l increase in serum Se concentration but no association was observed in homozygous subjects where p interaction did not reach statistical significance ( Table 4 ).
