We found no statistical significant difference, although a positive trend in favor of the vitamin D group was observed for the dyspnea item (Δ7.0±5.2 in the vitamin D group vs Δ5.5±3.9 in the placebo group; p=0.16) Discussion The present study is the first placebo controlled intervention study exploring the effect of supplementation with high doses of vitamin D in a 3 month rehabilitation program in patients with COPD.
