When data were cumulated for patients with localized melanoma or disseminated disease (e.g., absence or presence of metastases), there was a clear trend whereby percentages of total γδ T cells and their Vδ1 and Vδ2 subsets declined in patients with advanced disease, but again only differences in percentages of Vδ2 T cells were significantly different.
