The pneumonia related mortality also did not reach statistical significance by day 28 after the diagnosis of pneumonia in either HAP or VAP [25.2% (30/119) with adequate initial AB versus 39.5% (32/81) with inadequate initial AB in HAP patients (p = 0.519) (Figure 1 ) and 75.0% (30/40) with adequate initial AB versus 71.2% (42/59) with inadequate initial AB in VAP patients (p = 0.847) (Figure 2 )].
