There was an interesting trend to a longer time to progression in patients whose tumours had strong expression of total Akt2 or activated Akt (pAkt) detectable in both the cytoplasm and nucleus.
We observed an unexpected trend towards improved TTP in patients with tumours with strong Akt2 expression (13.1 vs. 7.2 months) but the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.133; HR 0.682; 95% CI 0.42–1.12).
