Of the SSRIs used as monotherapy, paroxetine had the highest risk of death in live birth infants (OR 2.2; 95% CI 1.0, 4.6) The categorization code for death ‘P01 fetus and newborn affected by maternal complications of pregnancy’ did not reach statistical significance (OR 2.1; 95% CI 0.5, 8.9) but it is interesting that this is twice as likely to be the most common code used for death in the SSRI group compared with the non-SSRI group.
