Nevertheless, when looking at each gender separately the association between hypertension and alcohol or tobacco use was only marginally significant in men with an OR of 1.4 (95% CI: 0.9 to 2.2; p=0.08) and 1.6 (95% CI: 1.0 to 2.7; p=0.07), respectively (Table 3 ).
