When we examined the risk of tuberculosis associated with smoking separately for PLHIV according reported use of drugs, there was no increase in risk of TB associated with smoking in those who did not use drugs, and a doubling of the risk of tuberculosis with smoking (current and past) in those who reported using drugs, but this did not reach statistical significance.
