We found nominally significant evidence for allelic variation at one SNP (rs17268988) being associated with the number of DSM-IV inattentive symptoms, with males possessing a G allele ( n = 51) showing more inattentive symptoms than those possessing the more common C allele ( n = 163) ( U = 4906, nominal P value = 0.026; Table 2 ).
