Only two correlations among carotenoids from wild condors did not reach statistical significance (both involving echinenone correlations with other xanthophylls, r ≤0.39, P≥0.075, n = 22), while all relationships were positive and significant in captive condors (all r ≥0.54, all P<0.006, n = 24; three captive individuals in which we did not detect plasma carotenoids were excluded from the analysis).
