In patients treated pharmacologically a decrease in LVEF over a 12-month follow-up period did not reach statistical significance, but at the same time we observed a significant increase in LVEDD – it was more pronounced in elderly patients, with higher transaortic maximum velocity at rest and with more wall motion abnormalities (higher WMSI) at stress.
