On the other hand, this conclusion is weakened by an unclear pattern of results on the behavioral level: For the reason that the RT distraction effect in the Oddball condition is only marginally significant (in a two-tailed t -test) and the interaction term of the factors Condition and Trial type also failed to reach statistical significance on a 5% level, it is hard to tell whether the lack of a behavioral distraction effect in the Distractor condition is due to the incapability of the rare stimuli to result in distraction of task performance or whether it mirrors weak statistical power in the behavioral data only.
