This variable did not reach statistical significance according to the logistic regression in our study; there were significant differences in operative mortality in the univariate analysis between the men and women (3.1% vs. 10.1%, respectively) and the factors that correlated with gender according to the logistic regression analysis included body surface area, postoperative low cardiac output syndrome, hypercholesterolemia, weight, preoperative creatinine more than 1.5 mg/dl, and preoperative hematocrit.
