With receiver-operator characteristic (ROC) curves for ScvO 2 , CO 2 gap and lactate to detect a VO 2 /DO 2 > 30%, the area under the curves (AUC) was significant for ScvO 2 , CO 2 gap (AUC ± SE = 0.887 ± 0.046; 0.783 ± 0.062; p < .05, resp.) while lactate did not reach statistical significance.
