The overweight group showed significantly lower adiponectin and higher leptin and chemerin levels, as compared with lean and control groups (that were still significant after statistical adjustment for BMI); oxLDL concentration was significantly higher than that observed for the lean group and showed a trend towards higher values, as compared to the control (Figures 1(a) – 1(c) and Figure 2(a) ).
