There was a nearly significant negative association between the probability that a Phase Two egg was fertilized by an extra-pair male and the number of fledged chicks in the female's nest in Phase One, controlling for female as a random factor (GLMM with binomial errors, χ 2 (1) = 3.73, p = 0.054).
