Patients treated at the MTD had a higher rate of toxicity (although still generally tolerable) than did patients treated in the DEC, but showed a trend of higher RRs, shorter times to response and a longer duration of response, suggesting that this regimen justifies further evaluation in relapsed or refractory MM.
