For adults, no differences between the two treatment arms existed in any of the frequencies at baseline, and after 8 weeks of treatment, there was a significant difference in hearing threshold between treatment arms at 6000 Hz ( p = 0.03) in adults, while those at 500 ( p = 0.07), 1000 ( p = 0.09), and 8000 Hz ( p = 0.09) approached significance by Mann-Whitney U test.
