Analysis of the overall pooled odds ratio for infection in those with upper versus lower limb pediatric open fractures, regardless of the time to surgical debridement, was in favor of upper limb fractures, but this difference did not reach statistical significance (OR = 0.72, 95 % CI 0.29, 1.82; p = 0.40, I 2 = 0 %) (Fig. 3 ).
