2.7 million of the total deaths in the world per year to diets low in fruits and vegetables.[ 4 ] In Iran a nutritional transition is currently occurring, especially in big cities, and subsequently diet-related chronic diseases are rapidly increasing.[ 5 ] Tehran's lipid and glucose study observed a negative trend with respect to the diet quality in children and adolescents compared with the recommendations for preventing cardiovascular diseases.[ 6 ] A study among the students of Iran's University of Medical Sciences showed that the amount of daily fat intake is more than the daily calories plus the dietary cholesterol and saturated fat is more than the recommended amount.
