4 , 8 Despite inconsistent results and scarcity of large-scale prospective randomized trials, there is a clear trend towards the use of this technique in postoperative pain management 25 , 26 and some authors even recommend that multimodal analgesia should be used whenever possible. 27 The risk factor analysis of the present study is in context with this concept, and also shows that adding an antiemetic may decrease the risk of PONV in patients using fentanyl-based IV-PCA.
