Previous tests incorporating a large histologic sample of dicynodonts and other therapsids found similar correlations between raw vascular growth proxies and size (estimated from skull lengths), although tests on a subset of dicynodonts were only marginally significant and non-significant when independent contrasts were evaluated ( Botha-Brink & Angielczyk, 2010 ).
