Nevertheless, while the number of responders from non-endemic countries such as UK and Netherland is low (33 and 34, respectively), probably because the cases are quite rare and diagnosed in imported or relocated dogs [ 15 , 16 ], the number of responders from Germany was quite significant, confirming the empirical data that HW infection is quite frequently diagnosed in travelling or relocated dogs [ 4 ].
