Although Sm-D1 only showed a trend for biochemical enrichment in the FAD insoluble proteome (Figure 1 ; Additional file 1 : Table S1), Sm-D1 immunoreactivity was strongly associated with tangle-like structures in all cases (PS1-6/6, APP-2/2, Down 6/6) (Figure 2 ).
