In the joint analysis of samples with intravenously derived indices of insulin sensitivity, nominally significant associations were observed between the disease risk allele and reduced insulin sensitivity for the IRS1 ( P = 7 × 10 −4 ) and ADCY5 ( P = 6 × 10 −3 ) loci ( Table 2 and Supplementary Fig. 2 A and B ).
