Heart rate responses also demonstrated a significant interaction (F=12.589, P <0.05) of group and time ( Table 2 ), and heart rate changed in both groups over time ( P <0.05, Figure 1 ). Blood lactate concentration in both groups tended to be lower in the cold than the neutral conditions, but these differences did not reach statistical significance ( Figure 2 ).
