In the present study, after in vivo treatment with the aromatase antagonist fadrozole, highly significant changes were observed in pituitary prolactin-positive cells: decreases in the intensity of the immunohistochemical cytoplasmic reaction, decreases in the percentage and proliferation of prolactin-positive cells, and decreases in the cellular and nuclear areas, accompanied by lower levels of serum prolactin.
