Recently, the results of the positive phase III AVAglio and The Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) 0825 studies, which were presented at the 49th Annual American Society of Clinical Oncology Meeting in 2013, showed that bevacizumab in combination with radiation and temozolomide chemotherapy reduced the risk of progression-free survival in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma; however, overall survival did not reach statistical significance.
