Mean effect sizes for scopolamine also showed a trend indicating that this alkaloid was selected against by the more specialized herbivore ( L. daturaphila ) followed by the less specialized beetle ( E. parvula ), and it was favored by the generalist grasshopper ( Figure 2 , Table S3 ).
