The locus marked by rs7780001 on chromosome 7p21.1 near FERD3L was genome-wide significant in the meta-analysis across ethnic groups (P value 2.0 × 10 −8 ; Figure 3 and Additional file 7 : Figure S5) and had nominally significant associations in all three ethnic groups.
