Kaplan-Meir plots of MIF levels against survival appeared to show no predictive significance of MIF levels in primary melanoma tumours (Figure 7 A) whereas a clear trend was evident for metastatic samples where the first and second quartiles segregated from the third and fourth quartiles (Figure 7 B).
