Unlike in Study 1, the effect of metastereotyping on employability beliefs did not reach statistical significance, F (2, 53) = 1.93, p = .16, η 2 = .07, although the pattern was consistent with our expectations (negative metastereotype condition, M = 3.90, SD = 0.70; control condition, M = 4.31, SD = 0.98; and positive metastereotype condition, M = 4.40, SD = 0.86).
