Nonetheless, it is quite remarkable that such highly significant age-related changes in circulating miRNAs, as observed in our study for miR-301a, miR-20a-3p, miR-106b-5p, miR-191 and miR-30b-5p, can be evidenced with as little as 10 patients per age group, suggesting that these miRNAs can be considered as robust and reliable aging biomarkers.

The sentences
The remaining miRNAs included in the validation study (miR-21, miR-210, miR-320b, miR-378, miR-423-5p, let-7d, miR-140-5p, miR-200c, miR-374a, miR376a) all showed similar trends as observed in the exploratory screening but these differences did not reach statistical significance.
