One previous study has reported a nominally significant association between a SNP in the TERT region (rs2736122) and endometrial cancer (reported P = 0.03) (Prescott et al. 2010 ), but this SNP was not significant in our larger analysis ( P = 0.85; Supplementary Table 5), whilst a recent multi-cancer study of nearly 2,000 5p15.33 SNPs did not report an association with endometrial cancer (Wang et al. 2014 ).
