found that anterior decompression had significantly better results than laminoplasty in postoperative JOA score, but the differences of postoperative JOA score did not reach statistical significance when comparing anterior corpectomy with posterior laminectomy or comparing laminectomy with laminoplasty.[ 27 25 ] Also, the neurological outcome of patients who underwent laminectomy and fusion was better than that of patients treated with laminoplasty.
