Several studies have reported that certain flavonoids such as kaempherol glycosides and rutin can stimulate glycogen synthesis.[ 41 42 ] In the present study, quercetin had a tendency to increase GS activity in HepG2 cells, but the effect failed to reach statistical significance as opposed to the insulin positive control.
