At 12 months, a trend towards increased mortality existed in those that were MTB blood culture positive (35.3%, 12/34) compared to those that were MTB blood culture negative (23.3%, 70/300) although this difference did not reach statistical significance (Log rank test, p = 0.065) (Figure 2 ).
