Those who used HIT evidenced an increase in the likelihood of meeting minimal fitness standards (OR = 1.56, 95% CI = 0.92–2.63), although the finding did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.10). 4 Discussion Approximately one-third of firefighters reported that they participated in some sort of HIT and those who did were approximately half as likely to be in the obese range by WC and BF% measures when compared to those who did not.
