There was a significant decrease at baseline mean ALT levels for all patients and for those receiving Peg IFN α 2a at the end of treatment and six months after the end of treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.01, respectively), but it did not reach statistical significance in the Peg IFN α 2b group.
