For patients with UC, those ≥50 years of age had a 3.6-times higher risk of having gallstones compared to that in those <50 years of age, and the difference was statistically significant (OR, 3.60; 95% CI, 1.03-12.61; P =0.045; Table 4 ) in univariate analysis, although it did not reach statistical significance in multivariate analysis.
