Dividing the patients into four groups: non-OSA (with AHI <5 per hour), mild OSA (AHI ≥5 and <15 per hour), moderate OSA (AHI ≥15 and ≤30 per hour), and severe OSA (AHI >30 per hour) showed that there was a significant trend towards a rise in CHADS 2 ( p for trend <0.001) and CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc scores ( p for trend <0.001) (Fig. 3 ).
