Study results were in agreement with the existence of a relationship between vitamin D and RA disease activity by two effects: (1) vitamin D levels were lower ( P < 0.05) in patients with high disease activity, with a clear trend toward a continuous increasing in 25(OH)D level along with decreasing disease activity; (2) also there was a significant inverse correlation between serum 25(OH)D levels and disease activity as evaluated by DAS28-ESR.
